I can’t let the clock strike midnight without taking a moment to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.”
“As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back.”
“No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
-I Have A Dream, August 1963
I get chills every time I read the text from that speech.
What a visionary. What a brilliant speaker.
What an inspiration.
Thank you, Dr. King, for believing in a cause that was greater than yourself and fighting for it with unmatched perseverance and without violence. My only hope is that we can continue to evolve equality to eventually shelter all that it rightfully should.
